Dr. Helen Gelhot
Dr. Helen Gelhot first began her education at Jewish Hospital School of Nursing, where she received her R.N. degree. She studied Pre-Med at Washington University, and received her B.A. from Webster University in 1982.
In 1987 she received her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She performed her General Surgery Internship at The Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati, and started an Anesthesiology Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Her residency was interrupted by health issues which did not allow her to return to the operating room. She returned to St. Louis and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at St. Louis University. Dr. Gelhot has had additional certification, education and experience in weight loss, hormones, pain control and esthetics.
Dr. Gelhot is a native of St. Louis and currently resides here with her husband, Paul, and their daughter. She is an active volunteer in her community.
